Who are Green Crusaders?

Hyderabad Tobring awareness on the need for green & net zero buildings and drive the market towards sustainable infrastructure, the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) had introduced the Green Crusaders Programme on Earth Day 2022. This programme is a project registration drive, during which developers/ builders/ owners of the projects will be registering their projects under appropriate IGBC Rating systems. This programme was initiated like a green movement. It was started with 71 developers pan India. It had four editions so far, all of which have been a resounding success. As many as 30 projects were registered in the first edition, 38 projects in the second edition and 50 projects in the third edition. The IGBC has announced over 4,000 projects across India, said C Sekhar Reddy, Chairman, IGBC Hyderabad Chapter.
For the latest edition of this programme, the IGBC has collaborated with the Confederation of Real Estate Developers' Association of India (Credai) on the occasion of World Environment Day 2023, exclusive for the Credai members. This august virtual gathering on 5 June 2023 was held under the leadership of Credai National President Boman R Irani and IGBC National Chairman Gurmit Singh Arora. About 71 projects from the Credai members across India have registered their commercial and residential projects under various IGBC Green Building Ratings, accounting to 40 million sq ft of green footprint. This was a clear demonstration of their commitment towards Green & Net Zero Building Movement, to save environment for future generations.
In Telangana, more than 700 builders are among green crusaders – showcasing their leadership and commitment towards building a sustainable planet.
